Buchanans Solicitors strives to offer a prompt and sensitive approach to probate law
Probate
The last thing that anybody needs at the time of a bereavement is to be bogged down by legal matters. At Buchanans Solicitors, we will obtain what information we require from you and then deal with obtaining a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration prior to administering the deceased’s estate.
We will organise valuations of the assets and liabilities in the estate, prepare and submit the Inheritance Tax account, prepare the Oath for Executors or Administrators, obtain a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration, and then gather in the assets, discharge the liabilities, and pay out any legacies in the Will. If the deceased owned a house we will deal with all matters relating to the sale (or transfer of ownership) of it.
We also have experience of contentious probate matters, such as where a friend or relation of the deceased wants to challenge the validity or content of a Will.
